Money Making Secret #1 Write 3 a Day! 3 WHAT?
Fast-Fast-Fast is NOT the way to go. It's so easy to send emails today that the 'personal touch' has been forgotten. Emails are deleted in an instant. Here's an idea that keeps on GIVING and GIVING and GIVING.
On my desk I have postcards or more specifically Appreciation-Grams ready to go. These A-Grams are 4.25 x 5.5" postcards. On the front of course my return address, with the following (short commercial/ad) directly beneath:
Author of Best Seller "How to Get the Job You Really Want and Get Employers to Call You" and results getting system: "How to Get On Radio Talk Shows All Across America Without Leaving Your Home or Office"
Then directly above the space for me to write their address "Especially for..."
That's it for Side One.
On Side Two: a simple headline "Appreciation-Gram" in a fancy font.
That's it!
With just enough room to WRITE two or three short sentences, thanking them, praising them, honoring them, for something that happened that day.
A 23 cent stamp sends it on its way FIRST CLASS MAIL. People save these cards. I save the ones I receive, and tape them up around my office entrance, so that I see and read them every time I come in or go out.

Give you client's payment options. Multiple payment options = increased buying power. Limited payment options = limited buying power. This is especially true in e-commerce or mail order and telephone order sales. Telling some who wants air miles or wants all of their business expenses to go through a credit card that you don't accept credit cards, is a sure-fired way to send them to a competitor that does. Likewise telling someone who prefers to write a check at your web site or do an Electronic Funds Transfer over the phone that you only take credit cards is just as likely to cost you sales. After all, they might not have a credit card. Only 54% of the population has a credit card, but 94% have a checking account. And did you know that only one out of four checking account customers hold credit cards with available credit? The moral is -- let your customers pay the way that is most convenient and preferable to them. Whether they use plastic or want you to draft from their checking account, you get paid.

Don't be penny-wise and pound-foolish. The number one reason businesses fail is not poor sales, but poor cash flow. Why? They're so adamant about not giving a small percentage of a business transaction to Visa/MC or to initiate an Electronic Funds Transfer that immediately puts the money owed them right in their bank account, that they let thousands of dollars in receivables go uncollected.

If you do have a Merchant Account, make sure you're getting your qualified rate and that you're not paying unnecessary downgrade surcharges. If you can't make sense of your Merchant Statement, find someone who can.
