Money Making Secret #2 -- SAVE 30% of Your Time When You Input Data Into Your Computer …  

The usually order is: First name, last name, business, address, city, state and then ZIP.  

My way is: First name, last name, business address, and then ZIP.

You see I never have to type in a city or state when I am inputting new data into my Filemaker Pro database program.  

Filemaker Pro has a ‘lookup’ feature which, when I type in the 5 digit ZIP code, AUTOMATICALLY ‘looks up’ and ‘types in’ the city AND state.  

What a deal! I save 30% of the keystrokes that I used to use in inputting data.  

For your convenience and ease I’ve made available my ZIP code database of 48,215 cities, states, and ZIP codes. All for FREE. Simply go to http://www.JoeSabah.com

If you are entering the city, state and zip code information for each new contact, you are working too hard. Did that know that with many contact managers or database programs, there is a lookup feature? This means when you type in the zip code, your program automatically enters the city and state information.  

Just think:  

1. You'll never again have to remember how to spell San Luis Obispo, CA or Oconomowoc, WI or Truth Or Consequences, NM.  

2. Imagine all of the keystrokes you will save. I figured out that the new record entered takes 42 keystrokes. By using this Zip Code database with the lookup feature of your program, you will save an average of 14 keystrokes per entry (30%).  

If this sounds like a good idea, especially given that the price is FREE, just click on the underlined blue text, (or go to www.JoeSabah.com, scroll down to ZIP Codes) then tell your browser where to put it on your hard drive. The file size is 960K, so plan on taking about six minutes to download it if you have a 28.8K modem connection. (The file has been named zipcodes.xyz in order to keep the browser from wanting to open the file while you are downloading. Once it is on your hard drive, change the .xyz to .txt -- especially if you are using a Windows computer – and you will be ready to import the data into any contact management program you are using that has a ‘lookup feature.’)
